I am very happy I read this book. This is not a book I would have normally picked up on my own, but I am very happy my book club chose it. The Girl Who Was Supposed to Die is a suspense/ action/ mystery novel. This book starts when a girl wakes up and doesn't remember anything. Then, a man comes and drags her to the woods to kill her. During all of this, the girl still remembers nothing, not even her own name. Then she escapes from her abductor. As the story goes on, the main character starts to learn more about her past but her memory is still mostly gone. From the very first page to the last page, this book had me on the edge of my seat making me want to read on. This book is short in length and well paced, however I did feel the ending was slightly rushed. The Girl Who Was Supposed to Die is also a Truman nominee. I would rate this book 4 out of 5 stars. I recommend this book and I am looking forward to reading more of April Henry's books in the future. 

The Eighth Guardian By Meredith McCardle is a science fiction/ futuristic/ mystery novel. This book is about a girl named Amanda  who is a junior at Peel Academy . At Peel Testing Day comes without warning. Testing Day is when all the juniors and seniors go through intense testing for people to see if they are ready to graduate and become government operatives. Amanda already plans that she will head to CIA with her boyfriend Abe. The CIA is  where most graduates go. But she plans to go there next year because no juniors have graduated in decades. When they graduates are announced there is a big surprise and Amanda finds herself having to make decisions dealing with her family, Abe, and more. I recommend this book to kids ages 12+ with parents consent  for the use of language. I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. I hope you enjoy The Eighth Guardian By Meredith McCardle.

The Eye of Minds by James Dashner is a futuristic action/adventure/mystery with a hint of science fiction. The Eye of Minds is about a boy named Michael who is a gamer like everyone else. He spends all his time playing on the virtnet which offers full simulation of the game that you are playing. In the virtnet there are some rules but if you have some hacking skills you can bend these rules to have more fun. Hacking these rules can be dangerous because some of the technology is to dangerous. Suddenly reports claim that one gamer is hacking the impossible and keeping gamers hostage inside the virtnet. Since the government runs the virtnet they know to catch this gamer they are going to need another gamer. So Michael finds himself chasing this gamer and trying to figure out his motive and how he is doing this. I could not put this book down! This book is very suspenseful and is full of plot twists. I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. I would highly recommend this book to anybody who likes mystery,action, adventure, and/or science fiction. 

Steelheart By Brandon Sanderson is a Science Fiction/Fantasy/Mystery Young Adult Novel. I couldn't put this book down. Mr. Sanderson is a great writer I thought I had the mystery all figured out but everything changed right at the end. Steelheart is about a boy named David who's dad dies due to a "epic". Epics are regular humans who somehow gained superhuman powers right after a explosion in the sky. I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. I would recommend this book to anybody who likes mystery and/or : fantasy, & science fiction. I'm really looking forward to the sequel to this book that comes out in January.I hope you enjoy Steelheart by Brandon Sanderson.

Stormbreaker by Anthony Horowitz is the first book in the Alex Rider series.
This book falls into the adventure genre. The main character is named Alex Rider a 14 year old boy who went to live with his uncle when his parents died in a plane crash. I don't want to spoil anything so I'll give you a very brief overview. Events happen and suddenly Alex finds himself caught up in the world of espionage, and he goes on his first mission. I absolutely loved this book. The plot keeps your attention and makes you want to keep reading until the very end. I give this book 5 out of 5 stars. I hope you like Stormbreaker by Anthony Horowitz as much as I did.
