Fans of historical fiction, take note.  The Orphan's Tale is one fantastic read!

Noa has been kicked out by her parents for becoming pregnant with a German soldier's baby.  When that child is subsequently taken from her, Noa must live at a train station which she cleans in order to stay there.  She discovers a train car full of Jewish babies headed for a concentration camp.  Without contemplating the consequences she might face, Noa grabs one of the infants and heads into the woods so they might escape.  The weather overtakes her, but luckily she is taken in by members of a traveling circus.  The circus owner agrees to shelter her and the child, whom she is passing off as her younger brother, but Noa must become part of the trapeze act in order to stay.  Astrid, the current star of the trapeze, is tasked with training her in a very short time.  Astrid faces her own danger if they are discovered since she is Jewish as well.  Astrid and Noa develop a special bond as they must learn to trust each other both inside and outside of the ring.

I loved this amazing novel!  It offered all the wonderful hallmarks of a great historical fiction novel with the wonder of the circus as well.  The Orphan's Tale provided a unique view of World War II that I had not read about before.  This was the first novel by Pam Jenoff that I had the pleasure of reading and it definitely won't be the last.

My Not So Perfect Life by Sophie Kinsella

I can always count on Sophie Kinsella to give me several laugh out loud moments when reading her books.  My Not So Perfect Life did that and so much more!

Katie Brenner is desperately trying to get her career off the ground and live the glamorous London life.  She  changed her name to Cat and posted all the right photos to social media making her life sound grand, when the reality is she still feels like Katie, her commute is horrendous and her living conditions are less than ideal.  Just when things seemed to be turning her way, Katie is dealt a devastating blow at work.  She finds herself returning home, but what's in store for Katie may not be exactly what she had in mind.

My Not So Perfect Life combines humor along with a love story and workplace plotline, yet it also provides a look into social media and the reality of our lives. I very much enjoyed this latest Sophie Kinsella novel.

Right Behind You by Lisa Gardner

Lisa Gardner is quite simply one of the best thriller writers today.  Her books always keep me in suspense and Right Behind You is no exception.  Right Behind You features FBI profilers Pierce Quincy and Rainie Conner along with their 13 year old soon to be adopted foster daughter Sharlah May Nash.

When Sharlah was five years old, her older brother Telly beat their abusive drunken father to death with a baseball bat in an effort to save both Sharlah and Telly.  The siblings have been separated ever since that time.  Then Quincy is called about a double homicide at the local gas station and learns that Sharlah's brother Telly is the likely suspect.  A manhunt ensues to try to find Telly and stop him before he finds his next victim.  Is Telly a cold blooded killer or is there more to the story?

I'd suggest clearing your schedule before you pick this one up.  It will keep you on the edge of your seat and has so many unexpected twists and turns.  In addition to all the hallmarks of a perfect thriller, Right Behind You has very believable and relatable characters.  I got completely caught up in this book and I know you will too.  I highly recommend adding Right Behind You to your must read list.
